ACCELERATE EXPLAINS THE SCOPE AND IMPORTANCE OF ‘CLEAN COOLING’

June 30, 2020Featured, NewsTine Christiansen

Special issue looks at how organizations around the world use climate-friendly natural refrigerants – carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and ammonia – and other sustainable technologies.

Brussels, Belgium (June 30, 2020) – The new issue of Accelerate (Special Issue #110), now available online, offers an unprecedented look at the concept of Clean Cooling, a new approach to air conditioning and refrigeration that calls for resilient cooling for all who need it, without environmental damage or climate impact.

Accelerate is the first news publication written for and about the most progressive business leaders working with climate-friendly natural refrigerants and other sustainable cooling technologies throughout the world. It builds on the legacies of Accelerate Magazine and six regional magazines, Accelerate America, Accelerate Europe Accelerate Australia & New Zealand, Accelerate China, Accelerate Asia and Accelerate Japan.

Issue #110 of Accelerate is viewable at no charge at http://accelerate24.news/magazines/.

The cover story of Issue #110 issue explores the scope and importance of Clean Cooling, a sustainable approach to cooling for all developed by Professor Toby Peters of the University of Birmingham, U.K. Clean Cooling ties together a myriad of elements, including natural refrigerants, energy efficiency, demand mitigation, behavior change and thinking thermally.

“Clean Cooling will be the gold standard for everything to do with cooling systems,” said Marc Chasserot, CEO of shecco. “It will bring all the pieces of the cooling puzzle into one measurable whole.”

Also in issue #110 are regional articles on: a Canadian ice rink that is leveraging heat reclaim from its CO2 refrigeration system; a net-zero Lidl store in the Netherlands powered only by solar power and a thermal underground reservoir; an Australian entertainment center using propane-based air conditioning; and a Japanese fish processor that rebuilt a natural refrigerant-based facility following a devastating earthquake.

Other articles include: cooling as a service in South Africa, a new way to cool vaccines off the grid, and a new mission for Refrigerants, Naturally!
