Brussels, Belgium (December 4, 2019) – The November-December 2019 edition of Accelerate Magazine, now available online, examines whether the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol – a global plan to phase down super-polluting HFC gases up to 85% over the next 30 years – goes fast and far enough, given the urgency of the climate crisis.
Debuting in June 2019, Accelerate Magazine is the first news publication written for and about the most progressive business leaders working with climate-friendly natural refrigerants throughout the world. It incorporates shecco’s previously published regional magazines, Accelerate America, Accelerate Europe and Accelerate Australia & New Zealand.
The November-December issue of Accelerate Magazine (Vol. 1, No. 105) is viewable at no charge at http://accelerate24.news/magazines/.
The cover story of the new issue provides an update on the Kigali Amendment as it completes the its first year of operation. So far 88 out of 197 countries and the European Union have ratified it and begun to take action in regards to HFCs, which are powerful greenhouse gases. But the amendment is being questioned by NGO Greenpeace, which is calling for a faster and complete elimination of HFCs.
The November-December 2019 issue also features regional articles on: the Publix and Kroger food retail chains in the U.S; the METRO AG, Carrefour Poland and Sainsbury’s chains in Europe; training in South Africa; ammonia/CO2 systems in Australia; and market-changing natural refrigerant initiatives in Thailand and the Philippines. Global trend articles include an update of the SolarChill program and insights from refrigeration experts Armin Hafner and Toby Peters.
