Brussels, Belgium, July 31, 2019 – A new international standard that allows up to 500 g (17.6 oz) of flammable hydrocarbon refrigerants like propane to be used in supermarket display cases is expected to boost the adoption of this equipment globally, according to the cover story of the July-August issue of shecco’s Accelerate Magazine, published online this week.

The cover story of the new issue looks at the impact of the new 500 g charge limit (previously 150 g) for hydrocarbon refrigerants in commercial self-contained display cases, which was approved in May by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The July-August issue also features: In the U.S, food retailer Weis Markets’ energy-saving CO₂ refrigeration system; in Switzerland, food retailer Migros’s innovative CO₂ system encompassing refrigeration, air conditioning and heating; in Australia, an ammonia chiller used for air conditioning at the a Logan City administration building; and in Japan, Kokubu Group’s choice of ammonia/CO₂ and
