Brussels, 12 November 2018 – Voting is now open for Accelerate Europe magazine’s ‘Innovation of the Year’ award after the nominations were announced today.

The award, to be chosen by attendees of next week’s ATMOsphere Europe conference in Italy, recognises companies that have recently developed a particular natural refrigerant-based product with a significant impact on the market, with multiple installations in the field already.

This year’s nominees are:

• German multinational GEA, for the BluQ: a low-charge NH₃chiller for air-conditioning large buildings, which was launched at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort earlier this year (March 2018).
• Italian company enEX, for the Yukon CO₂ chiller – which can be used as a reversible heat pump and air-conditioner in commercial buildings.
• Lithuanian firm Freor, for its propane-based ‘Jupiter Green’ water-loop display cabinets for food retail.
• Italy’s Euroklimat, for its new propane (R290) heat pump. With a propane charge of 5.5 kg, the new heat pump has a heating capacity of 60 kW and is designed for outdoor installation. It will be placed on the market in 2019.
• Italian multinational SCM Frigo, for its new CO₂ chiller for industrial applications.

The 2^nd Annual Accelerate Europe Awards, which recognise people and organisations excelling in advancing natural-refrigerant technologies, will be given out during a special ceremony on the shores of Italy’s Lake Garda, during the 9^th edition of ATMOsphere Europe.

In addition to Innovation of the Year, there are four other award categories:

Best in Sector: Food Retail End User

• Best in Sector: Light Commercial End User
• Best in Sector: Industrial End User
• Person of the Year

The awards ceremony takes place on Tuesday 20 November.
