December 15, 2017Featured, NewsEda Isaksson

Portland, Oregon, December 6, 2017: A diverse array of 30 end users that are pioneering the use of natural refrigerants – CO2, hydrocarbons and ammonia – in North America are listed and described in the November-December 2017 issue of Accelerate America, published online this week.

Published 10 times annually by shecco, the worldwide expert in natural refrigerant news, Accelerate America is the first news magazine written for and about the most progressive business leaders working with climate-friendly natural refrigerants in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Accelerate America is viewable online at no charge at http://www.acceleratena.com. In addition, print copies are distributed at major North American trade shows serving the HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) and refrigeration industries, and mailed to key end users in food retail, foodservice, cold storage, food processing and other sectors.

The leading end users portrayed in this issue include food retailers, foodservice operators and brands, and cold storage and food processing companies, as well as an ice rink operator, telecommunications company, aquarium and apartment building owner. Most of the end users on this list are using natural refrigerants for refrigeration, but several are incorporating them in air conditioning and heat pumps. Among the end users are recognized names like Whole Foods Market, ALDI US, Target, Campbell Soup, Red Bull and Coca-Cola.

The November-December 2017 issue (volume 4, No. 30) also reports on: the safety of ammonia at ice rinks in the wake of a fatal accident; the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed increase to the amount of flammable hydrocarbon refrigerants allowed in household fridges; the U.S. support of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol; and the America’s Pledge initiative.

Also featured: Coverage of the November MOP29 Montreal Protocol meeting in Montreal, Canada; a new guide on safe servicing of propane-based home appliances from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers; a report on training for low-charge ammonia systems; a primer on transcritical CO2 booster systems; and coverage of major exhibitors at the RETA National Conference.
