Brussels, 13 September 2017: With its HFC phase-down pathway enshrined in the EU F-Gas Regulation and plethora of innovative manufacturers and progressive end users, Europe already ranks among the world’s most developed markets for natural refrigerant-based HVAC&R solutions. The autumn edition of Accelerate Europe shows how big names such as Sainsbury’s and Deutsche Bahn are leading from the front.
In the UK, Brits are flocking to online shopping in their droves – a trend to which Sainsbury’s has been quick to respond. Accelerate Europe visits the retail giant’s new online fulfilment centre in east London to see how natural refrigerants are serving the shopping landscape of the future.
As the world’s second-largest transport company and Europe’s largest railway operator and infrastructure owner, Deutsche Bahn is acutely aware of its power to contribute to improving the sustainability of our environment. This edition looks at Deutsche Bahn’s plans to use natural refrigerants in its air conditioning in new trains from 2020 onwards.
As natural refrigerants become increasingly popular HVAC&R solutions for complying with the EU’s F-Gas Regulation, the need to train technicians to operate these systems is becoming more acute. In Altenstadt, Accelerate Europe saw at first hand how the German manufacturer is investing in training to stay one step ahead of the competition.
Later this month, the key movers and shakers driving uptake of natural refrigerants in Europe will be in Berlin for the eighth edition of the ATMOsphere Europe conference. Check out the preview coverage in this edition.
“One highlight of this year’s conference is the first-ever Accelerate Europe awards ceremony, recognising the most progressive end users, companies and individuals working with natural refrigerants in HVAC&R applications in Europe,” said Andrew Williams, editor of Accelerate Europe.
The popular ‘Technology Focus’ series continues with a look at how the market for propane-based air conditioners is developing worldwide. Chief among the other highlights of this autumn edition are a wide-ranging interview with Embraco CEO Luis Felipe Dau and extensive coverage of the ATMOsphere America conference in San Diego.
