Contractor Source Refrigeration explains how it is leading transition to natural refrigerants in Accelerate America

September 5, 2017Featured, NewsMonica Aldea

Portland, Oregon, August 30, 2017: Source Refrigeration & HVAC describes the pivotal, multi-faceted role that a contractor can play in facilitating the transition of supermarkets and other end users to natural refrigerant systems in the August 2017 issue of Accelerate America, published online this week.

Produced by shecco, the worldwide expert in natural refrigerant news, Accelerate America is the first news magazine written for and about the most progressive business leaders working with climate-friendly natural refrigerants in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Accelerate America is viewable online at no charge at http://www.acceleratena.com. In addition, print copies are distributed at major North American trade shows serving the HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) and refrigeration industries, and mailed to key end users in food retail, foodservice, cold storage, food processing and other sectors.

Through installations, training and industry initiatives, Source Refrigeration – led by its chief engineer Bryan Beitler – is helping food retailers and others transition to natural refrigerant systems. Source has deployed more than 50 refrigeration systems using carbon dioxide (CO2) as a natural refrigerant – likely the most of any U.S. contractor. In support of those systems, the contractor has committed itself to training its technicians on the art and science of natural refrigerants.

The August 2017 issue (volume 3, No. 27) also covers: industry reaction to a federal court ruling on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants; how Woolworths is using its first Australian store with transcritical CO2 refrigeration as a learning lab for the nation’s contractors, suppliers and other retailers; and how two cold storage operators are reducing the amount of liquid ammonia in their plants.

Also featured: Five manufacturers discuss the growth of transcritical CO2 equipment in North America; a look at how utilities can reduce the cost of natural refrigerant equipment with energy incentives; what comes next with the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol; and how low-charge-ammonia packages are reducing ammonia charge and improving safety.
