San Diego, Calif. May 10, 2017: Over 400 participants from the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the rest of the world will drive the discussion on natural refrigerant technologies at the 6th ATMOsphere America, taking place on June 5-7 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego. This year’s event will welcome more end users, policymakers and utilities than ever before.
“Over the past decade shecco has been building ATMOsphere America to be the leading industry platform to discuss the future of sustainable HVAC&R. It is safe to say that San Diego will be the biggest and best so far,” said Group CEO shecco, Marc Chasserot.
“ATMOsphere America is the place to come for the most up-to-date information on natural refrigerant adoption in North America from leading end users, manufacturers, policymakers, engineering firms, academics and other experts in the field,” said Michael Garry, editor of Accelerate America.
“The winning combination of policy updates, case studies, product updates and workshops makes this the event to discuss natural refrigerants in North America,” said Derek Hamilton, vice president – business development, shecco America. “I’m particularly looking forward to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Short-lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Strategy (SLCP Plan) discussion, as this will be a unique opportunity for all of the attendees to engage with CARB and help them shape the future of the HFC phasedown in California and beyond.”
In the Thought Leaders panel discussion kicking off the conference, HVAC&R industry pioneers such as Tristam Coffin (Whole Foods Market), Antoine Azar (Sustainable Solutions), Gerard von Dohlen (Newark Refrigerated Warehouse) and Bryan Beitler (Source Refrigeration) will discuss the opportunities for natural refrigerant-based technologies across various applications in North America.
Leading suppliers such as Scott Martin (Hillphoenix), André Patenaude (Emerson), Jerry Lozano (Güntner), Peter Dee (Danfoss) and Giacomo Pisano (Dorin) will give visionary presentations sharing their latest success stories, lessons learned and challenges to overcome with natural refrigerant-based technologies in the Market Trends and Opportunities panel discussion.
Another program highlight is the Regulations and Standards Panel. Embraco’s Marek Zgliczynski, representing the International Electrotechnical Commission, will hold an interactive discussion with Dave Rule (IIAR) and Glenn Gallagher (CARB) tackling the latest regulatory issues and standards regarding natural refrigerants in North America.
Interactive Panels & Workshops
Utilities will be in the spotlight this year, with Ammi Amarnath (Electric Power Research Institute) holding an interactive workshop together with Southern California Edison (SCE) and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).
Another highlight of the conference will be the SLCP discussion organized by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to discuss its SLCP Reduction Strategy aimed at reducing HFC consumption. Attendees will be able to engage with CARB representatives and help shape the development of the HFC reduction strategy.
Accelerate America Editor Michael Garry will present the second edition of the Accelerate America Awards, which recognize the companies and individuals who are leading the transition to natural refrigerant-based technologies. In a brand new CEO interview session, Steven Trulaske of True Manufacturing – one of the most successful CEOs in the industry – will be interviewed by Garry and shecco CEO Marc Chasserot.
Participants will be able to choose among parallel sessions, including Round Table: The Future of Foodservice’, Food Retail Panel, and case-study panels on industrial and commercial refrigeration, training, and innovative technologies. Among the speakers announced so far are: John Stuit (Defense Commissary Agency), Harrison Horning (Hannaford Supermarkets), Pete Lepschat (Henningsen Cold Storage), Vicente Guilabert (Huayi Compressor Barcelona), Chris Vallis (AB Group), Michael Lynch (United States Cold Storage), Scott Melton (ASTI), Kurt Liebendorfer (Evapco) and many more. Attendees will be able to network during a dinner reception at the Prado at Balboa Park.
