Brussels, 21 March 2017: Organised by shecco, sponsored and hosted by CAREL, the special ATMOsphere Network events on 7 and 8 March at EuroShop 2017 explored key market and policy trends.
“We were happy to see key decision-makers from end users taking part at the ATMOsphere Networking events during EuroShop”, said Marc Chasserot, CEO of shecco. “The formula of short and focused presentations followed by an informal networking proved to be very successful,” he concluded.
The networking events featured brief presentations focusing on the latest developments in international policy, products and industry trends regarding natural refrigerants from shecco, CAREL, the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ). Participants enjoyed an Italian-style networking cocktail reception after the presentations, and discussed the future of natural refrigerants with leading experts within an informal framework.
One of the most important topics discussed during the presentations was the global HFC phase-down post-Kigali. Discussing the roles of natural refrigerants in this transition, the EIA’s Clare Perry stated that developing countries have a significant role to play in accelerating the adoption of natural refrigerant-based technologies too, particularly by leapfrogging from R22, an HCFC, to natural refrigerants – bypassing HFCs altogether. Chasserot argued that China would soon become a major player in terms of natural refrigerants. “That’s a market to watch,” he said.
On the technology side, key themes such as global policy initiatives leading to opportunities for natural refrigerants, key market drivers and case studies, high efficiency and remote connectivity, were in the spotlight. In particular, CAREL presented its concept of “Natural Efficiency, Available Now,” including:
These exclusive networking events targeted retailers, industry and policy decision-makers who are looking for technologically viable, safe and efficient alternatives to HFCs for commercial refrigeration applications.
