Long Beach, 28 July 2016: Michael Garry, editor of shecco’s Accelerate America and North American editor of shecco Media, gave a presentation on trends in natural refrigerants at the 2016 Energy & Demand Response Symposium, held July 25-28 in Long Beach, Calif.
Co-sponsored by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Southern California Edison and Southern Company Services, the symposium brought together representatives from utilities, end users, manufacturers, academia, government and journalism to discuss how utilities and the private sector can collaborate to advance the adoption of natural refrigerant technologies as well as energy-efficient heat pumps and lighting.
Based on shecco research and reporting in Accelerate America, Garry’s presentation delved into trends in natural refrigerant adoption in North America and elsewhere in the world in commercial, light-commercial and industrial sectors.
He referred to several articles in Accelerate America that detail: how utilities are supporting supermarket and cold-storage installations; how energy efficiency is measured; what expert are saying about HVAC&R integration through CO2 refrigeration; what supplier at trade shows are saying about new products; and how leading end users like Roundy’s, Sobeys, Target, Whole Foods, Hannaford Supermarkets, DeCicco & Sons and US Cold Storage are benefiting from natural refrigerants.
