The ELEVTRA project was created to develop a comprehensive, international and standardised training programme for the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles (EV) and charging stations (CS) at the European level. The project, which is supported by the European Commission funded Leonardo da Vinci Programme, will culminate in final seminar held on 4 December 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.
The ELEVTRA project, which was officially launched in 2012, promotes the uptake and development of electric vehicles in Europe, emphasising the need for proper training of technicians to operate these new technologies. The project aims to develop a standardised training programme at the European level that provides a comprehensive response to the electric vehicle market’s needs, while also addressing a number of crucial challenges facing the development of electro mobility technologies.
The project involved 6 dedicated partners: Fundación Metal Asturias, Integrovaná střední škola automobilní (ISSA) Brno, Šolski center Velenje, shecco SPRL, Universidad de Oviedo and Hochschule Bochum.
Save the date: ELEVTRA final seminar
A final ELEVTRA seminar will be held on Thursday, 4 December 2014 at the Silken Berlaymont Brussels Hotel in Brussels, Belgium (view on goolge maps). The event will run from 10:00 to 15:00. Attendance is free of charge, including coffee breaks and lunch. Participation is limited to 100 attendees on a first come, first served basis.

Programme highlights
In addition to providing a summary of the project’s progress and conclusions, the seminar will also feature discussions on EU policies and market trends for electro mobility, as well as EV education and training opportunities. The programme will also include a round table discussion about the future of electric vehicles in Europe and beyond with speakers from the EU institutions, the EV industry, academia, OEMs and more.
ELEVTRA project key objectives
The main objectives of the ELEVTRA project include:
- To create a professional profile specialised in electric mobility, battery recharge stations and related maintenance engineering according to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
- To generate training tools, methodology and training materials following the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET)
- To develop, test and validate training materials in accordance with ECVET criteria for the development of competencies related to the new professional profile including demo materials
- To develop an integrated and multi-lingual e-learning platform for trainees and students containing multi-lingual training materials. The training modules are designed specifically to help learners to adapt and further develop the acquired knowledge, skills and competences
- To create a European Electro-mobility Cluster, an online platform of relevant key actors to boost interaction among stakeholders in the field of electro-mobility
European Commission Lifelong Learning Programme
Promoting the use of electric vehicles in Europe, the ELEVTRA project contributes to the EU’s climate targets and is, therefore, supported by the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme. ELEVTRA falls under the Leonardo da Vinci Programme, which supports organisations in the vocational education sector to work with partners from across Europe to exchange best practices and to increase their expertise.
