shecco has organised its first workshop in cooperation with the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR) during the China Refrigeration 2013 event held in Shanghai. Around 100 participants and China’s market leaders in their respective areas discussed the market potential of natural refrigerants in commercial and industrial refrigeration, and heat pumps.
Held on the second day of the China Refrigeration Exhibition 2013 event in Shanghai, the workshop on 9 April 2013 drew the attention of 100 participants interested in market trends for natural refrigerants in different applications, including commercial refrigeration, heat pumps and industrial refrigeration. Market leaders in their respective areas presented their ideas about available product solutions, technology trends, market forecasts, as well as highlighted opportunities and challenges for China to become a world leader in natural refrigerant technology.
Companies invited included pioneers in the field of natural refrigerants for commercial refrigeration – Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, Yantai Moon Group, and Fute Refrigeration -, as well as domestic CO2 heat pump supplier Shandong Melinda. A representative from Tesco China announced that the food retailer will be moving towards using only natural refrigerants in its domestic stores in the foreseeable future.

As an initiation to a long-term commitment to the Chinese market, shecco decided to organise the side-event with the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR). In his opening speech Mr Jin Jiawei, Secretary General of CAR, argued that natural refrigerants have always played an important role throughout history. Particularly, in the commercial refrigeration field, natural refrigerants have unique advantages. Mr Jin stated: “In terms of long-term environmental protection, it is necessary to avoid the emissions released by refrigerants made by synthetics chemicals so as to prevent potential hazards.“
“shecco is proud to announce our partnership with CAR. Over the next 12 months we will work together to bring natural refrigerant expertise and knowledge to the Chinese market. Our co-operation with CAR for the China Refrigeration workshop in Shanghai was the first step in this important relationship for shecco. shecco believes China will become an important market for natural refrigerants and we intend to help build and develop this market over the coming years,” says Marc Chasserot, Managing Director, shecco.
